It’s been an award winning year for Brodstone Memorial Hospital (BMH). The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) recently announced its newest ratings for patient experience with Brodstone making the list as a 5 Star Rated Hospital. CMS’ summary star rating scored 3,478 hospitals on a one-to-five-star scale based on the 10 publically reported measures in the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) survey. This newest rating lands Brodstone as one of 266 hospitals, in the top 8 percent of all hospital sizes in the nation, and one of nine in the State of Nebraska to receive this 5 Star Rating.
At the beginning of 2020, CMS announced its 5 Star rated hospitals in quality with Brodstone making the list as well. This makes for a Double 5 Star Rating on the year. Brodstone is one of just two facilities of all sizes in the State of Nebraska that received both 5 Stars in quality and patient experience from CMS. The facility is also the only hospital in the state that has received a Double 5 Star Rating and a Top 20 Critical Access Hospital national recognition this year – a remarkable feat.
“This is a tremendous award and demonstrates the care that is provided here at Brodstone on a daily basis. I am so proud of each and every one of you for the hard work and dedication to providing the highest quality of care there is. Please take a second to celebrate each other. This is something that is rare and needs to be celebrated! Without you, we couldn’t provide Double 5 Star, Superior Care Close to Home.” added Treg Vyzourek, the hospital’s chief executive officer when informing the hospital staff about the latest award. “We are truly blessed to have such a great team who works tirelessly to make sure our communities receive the highest quality of care possible!” he wrote to Brodstone Memorial Hospital Board of Managing Trustees.
