Elk Creek Country Club, Nelson, hosted the first day of the “Surf and Turf” on Saturday, August 15, with 21 3-person teams participating. Following golf, they had a prime rib supper.
Sixty-three golfers made their way to the Lawrence Country Club on Sunday for the second day of the tournament.
Championship flight:1st place: Nathan Rischling, Ben Dunlap and Any Wisell: 60 and 56 – 116; second place: Wayne Hoelting, Jerry Hoelting and Ed Karmazin: 63 and 59 – 122; third place: Steve Schroer, Phil Schroer and Keith Menke: 64 and 59 – 123.
First flight: (tie for first: Hole number 2, second round started the tie-breaker and hole number 4 determined the winners). First place: Brad Kohmetscher, Brett Kohmetscher and Greg Pohlmeier: 68 and 60 – 128; second place: Ridge Schutte, Chance Svoboda and Kirk Peterson: 68 and 60 – 128; third place: Keith Faimon, Nathan Faimon and Garret Svoboda: 69 & 61 – 130.
Second flight: First place: Carl Kohmetscher, Nick Kohmetscher and Gary Buescher: 72 and 61 – 133; second place: Any Sole, Jake Wroughton and Curt Bolte: 72 and 64 – 137; third place: Terry Cox, Todd Schiermeyer and Travis Chapman: 72 and 66 – 138.
