Marjorie June (Nelsen) Hulbert of Mankato ,Kan., died Aug. 3, 2020, at the Mitchell County Hospital. She was born on July 25, 1936, to Hans Andrew and Mildred Ethel (Fringer) Nelsen at Burr Oak, Kan.
Marjorie graduated from Bur Oak High School, Class of 1954. She married Myron Eugene Hulbert on July 18, 1953, in Nelson, Neb.
She enjoyed crocheting, reading and camping. She was a housewife and mother of three children before starting to work. Marjorie worked at the Jewell County Hospital as a nurse and med aid until she retired in 1994 with more than 20 years of service. She helped her husband with the billing for Hulbert Repair.
Survivors include her daughter, Marilyn K. Caffee, Colcord, Okla., daughter and son-in-law, Mildred (Chris) and Jeff LaClair of Black Forest, Colo., and son, Max E. Hulbert of Mankato. She has seven grandchildren: Katherine (Seel) Shoat, Herbert Seel, Solomon Seel, Ronald E. Gould III, Aaron T. LaClair, Melissa (Hulbert) Imler, and Bradley E Hulbert: 17 great-grandchildren; sister, Myrtle Roe; and brother, Donald Nelsen.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Myron E. Hulbert; and her sister, Betty Andreasen.
Visitation was from 2 to 5 p.m., at Kleppinger Funeral Home at Jewell, Kan., on Wednesday, Aug. 12. The family received friends from 4 to 5 p.m.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., today (Thursday) Aug. 13, at Shaffer Cemetery, 10 1/2 miles north of Mankato.
Memorial contributions may be sent in care of the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Harmony Methodist Church, Jewell County Hospital or Jewell Country Cancer Fund.
