Jody Crouse

Jody Wilson Crouse was born on Feb. 21, 1969, in Jackson County, Mo., to James and Bonnie Corlew Austin.

He spent much of his childhood on the Crouse family farm in southern Finney County, Kan., with his parents, Forrest and Bonnie Corlew Crouse. As a sophomore, he transferred to Lone Jack High School in Lone Jack, Mo., graduating with the Class of 1987.

His working life was in the food service industry in a variety of settings from Brown’s Chicken to the cafe in the federal building in downtown Kansas City to a Bob Evans restaurant - among other places.

His passions included computers and computer games, especially Dungeons and Dragons.

Jody Crouse died after a battle with cancer at the home of his mother, Bonnie Corlew Bennett, and step-father, Keith Bennett, in Kansas City, Mo.,on July 28, 2020. Cremation was chosen and no services are planned at this time.

He is survived by the Bennetts and his father, Forrest Crouse (Kerma) of Jewell; his sisters, Michelle Crouse Riddle of Blue Springs, Mo., and Rachel Crouse of Jewell; a nephew, Tamarick Riddle of Kansas City, Mo.; aunts, Margaret Crouse of Chadron, Neb. and Celia Crouse Krug (Steve) of Spearman, Texas; step-sisters, Misty Brown, Jordan Brown and Anna Callicoat.
