Cody and Crystal Wyatt won first place in the mixed couples summer golf league in Nelson at the E.C.C.C. Couples competed on Friday evening. Each team collected points to determine first place at the end of the season.
The mixed couples summer golf league met in Nelson at the Elk Creek Country Club Friday evening for their final round of competition using the two-person scramble format. It was a beautiful "fall like" evening.
Prizes this week went to the team of Craig German and Cindy Hewitt with a low net score of 34 and Richard and Verlene Watson with a high gross score of 55 and having the most over on a hole for taking an 8 on the par 4 hole 5. Rod Burge's second shot on hole 1 was the closest to the green; Craig German had a 43" putt on hole 3 and Jenny Harwell chipped onto hole 5 within 34" of the hole.
The standings didn't change much this week Even with Cody and Crystal Wyatt drawing a bye this week, they were still able to finish the season with 13 points earning them first place recognition!
Craig German and Cindy Hewitt claimed second place with 12 1/2 points. Josh and Christina Harwell finished in third place with 10 1/2 points, and Jerry Bargen and Sally Uhrmacher had 7 1/2 points for a fourth place finish. Tying for fifth place with 7 points are the teams of Joe and Jenny Harwell and Ken and Jan Rempe followed by Chuck and DeAnna Tuttle in seventh place with 6 1/2 points. Tying for eighth place with 4 points are the teams of Rod and Sue Burge and Richard and Verlene Watson.
Friday evening will be Fun Night and the prize money will be awarded.
