The Jewell County commissioners met June 8. Commissioners, Mark Fleming, Steve Greene and Keith Roe and Carla J. Waugh, county clerk, were present for the meeting.
Shannon Meier, ambulance director, reviewed April and May’s activity reports and the billing report. Anna Porter, county appraiser, had an updated employment contract for Jewell and Smith County.
Commissioners approved the interlocal agreement and contract between Smith County and Jewell County and Anna Porter, county appraiser.
It was approved to sign the Block Grant Agreement No 20-CV-035 upon county attorney’s approval.
Don Jacobs, sheriff, discussed patrol vehicles and cameras. He was given permission to purchase two cameras from Nextech.
Joel Elkins, general superintendent, discussed maintenance projects.
Kevin Peroutek, noxious weed director, emergency preparedness director and 9-1-1 coordinator, reported on a traffic accident with oil spill on Highway 14 North.
Chris Petet, custodian, discussed air conditioner replacement. The commissioners advised him to get quotes for mini-split units.
