The Jewell County Cinema board meeting was held at the Mankato Christian Church. Thadd Hinkle called the meeting to order. Members present were Thadd Hinkle, Lisa Goodheart, Phyllis Christie, Janis McDill, Chris and Jill Klos, Kristin Underwood and Sarah Ortman.
The treasurer’s report was read. Janis McDill said the ongoing bills are for gas and water.
In old business Chris Klos said Abby and Trevor Elkins painted trim on the theater building and put a coat of polyurethane on the outside bench. Janis McDill said she returned a $50 deposit to Joshua Lippold, because of the cancelled music events.
In new business Thadd Hinkle said the computer automatically turns on several times a week for program updates. He does a walk through of the building on Thursday mornings, running water and checking for leaks or damage.
Members discussed companies who do fire extinguisher checks.
Lisa Goodheart stated she has not contacted the school in reference to the ice cream social that is usually held in August. Discussion was held on the logistics of running that event, and it was decided to go ahead and schedule it for August 15.
The theater has to obtain a new insurance policy for the contents of the building.
Discussion was held on what to do with the concession items left over from the movie season. Thadd will check with the sheriff about the S.A.F.E. fundraiser which is scheduled for August 1.
The next meeting will be June 29.
