Mankato City Library to open with restrictions

Mankato City Library has added the following DVDs:

Dragon Wars: D-War, Ender’s Game, The Time Machine, Saints and Soldiers, The New World, Interstellar, Freddy Got Fingered, It’s a Disaster, Ironman, and The Trouble With Bliss.

Now available in adult audio fiction: “The Simple Faith of Mister Rogers: Spiritual Insights from the World’s Most Beloved Neighbor” by Amy Hollingsworth; and in juvenile fiction: “Lily the Thief” by Janne Kukkonen.

New additions to adult nonfiction include: “A Prairie Home Companion Pretty Good Joke Book” by Highbridge Company, and “Have a Little Faith: A True Story” by Mitch Albom.

Beginning Tuesday, Mankato City Library is permitting computer use by appointment only between noon and 5 p.m., Tuesdays through Fridays.

Appointments will be required by phone, email or Facebook message only. Contact the library at 785-378-3885, [email protected] mailto:man [email protected] or on the Mankato City Library Facebook page. No appointments will be made at the door.

The number of patrons will be limited to five at any one time and the front doors will remain locked.

Patrons will be allowed to request 30 minutes or one hour between noon and 5 p.m., which can be used to use the computer and to check out materials. Staff will be given adequate time to disinfect computer stations in between patrons. Time limits will be strictly adhered to for the purpose of disinfecting and allowing other patrons use of the library.

Patrons are asked to respect social distancing of six feet--mandatory with staff. Staff will not be able to provide one-on-one computer help or any help that places staff in close proximity without a barrier to stop potential spread of COVID-19.

Bathrooms will be closed to patrons.

Material returns are still to be deposited in the outside book returns. Library staff will not accept returns in person or at the desk.

Special appointments can be made by persons who are immuno-compromised or who have other health issues that would put them at an increased risk.

Masks are highly recommended.

Patrons can still request curbside services as long as it’s safe for staff to so.
