Transportation receives funding

Solomon Valley Transportation (SVT) is recognized National Transportation Week May 10 through 16 and announced the confirmed receipt of an award of the U.S.C. 49-5311 grant application for General Public Transportation. Annually SVT applies for funding from the Kansas Department of Transportation and the Federal Transit Administration. They have now been approved and will replace three vehicles in their fleet for the Fiscal Year 2021, which runs from July 2020 through June 2021.

Solomon Valley Transportation provides services to the general public. Trips include but are not limited to medical and day to day needs. Solomon Valley Transportation requests a 24-hour notice when scheduling a local trip and at least a 48-hour notice when scheduling an out of county trip.

The minimum suggested donation for a trip within the county is $1.50 each direction, making a round trip $3. The minimum suggested donation for a trip outside the county is $4 each direction, making a round trip $8.
