Douglas Ford

Douglas “Doug” Ford, 76, died March 12, 2020 in Lincoln, Kan. He was born July 18, 1943 in Agra, Kan.

Doug is survived by his daughters, Mrs.Jeff( Meita) Lyne of Lincoln, Kan., Mrs. Aaron (Jacqueline) Esterl of Beloit, Mrs. Gordon (Katherine Ford ) Engelke of Moran, Wyo., and Mrs. Dan (Stephanie) Heina of Lincoln, Kan.; son, Kenton (Amanda) Ford of Lincoln, Kan.; 20 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mrs. Marvin (Maggie) Meisinger of Marion, Mrs. Ernel (Diane) Henry of Arlington, Texas, and Mrs. Warren (Donna) Kreutziger of Marion; brothers, Orren (Earlene) Bronson of Hays, and Don (Cathy) Bronson of Smithville, Mo.; and a whole lot of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alma (Emme) and Warren Bronson; and grandparents, Louie and Maggie Emme and Warren C. Bronson.

Doug graduated from Kensington High School, the Class of 1961. He thoroughly enjoyed hosting his classmates in his home in Kensington for their 55th class reunion. Shortly after high school graduation, Doug went to work for the feed mill in Kensington and then went to work with Thaine Larson at his registered hog farm. From there he went on to Ionia to work at Rose Pork productions. Next he went to work at the feed yards near Mankato. After he was injured and disabled and finally retiring, Doug moved back to Kensington, what had been his parents’ home. Because of severe illness, he moved to Lincoln to be closer to his children.

Doug was a likeable guy. He enjoyed his animals, the farm and the great outdoors.

His funeral is at 11 a.m., Friday, March 20, 2020 at Parsons Funeral Home – Hall Chapel, Lincoln.
