This week’s burger night winner at Rip City Inn is Nolan Sandell.
The Annual Response Personnel Appreciation Dinner will be held at 6 p.m. March 17, for all Republic County Response agencies, personnel and storm spotters. This will be held in Belleville at the fairgrounds. Those who plan on attending need to RSVP March 10 to 785-527-5692.
There is a separate storm spotters training to be held at 6:30 p.m., today (Thursday). It is open to the public.
Republic County Church Women will meet on Friday at the Republic United Methodist Church. All are welcome to join in. It will begin at 9:30 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall with guest speaker, Brandon Shrader, as he speaks about his recent journey to the Holy Land. People are urged to bring items for the food bank and an offering will be taken and split between the Boy and Girl Scout troops.
Shayna Evert’s son, Montana Collins, turned 14 on Thursday.
Vicki Hallagin, daughter of Betty and Eldon Evert, died last week. Her funeral was Friday in Ellis, Kan.
RFD 9 will meet at 7:30 p.m., on Monday at the fire hall.
Betty Bouray filled the pulpit at First United Methodist Church in Superior on Sunday and afterwards visited her parents, Robert and Arlene Ahrens.
Kent, Betty and Dillon Bouray, Republic, Myron Bouray, Hardy, Lawrence and Estaline Bouray, Courtland, and Jr. and Theresa Bouray, Newman, had a noon meal together at Hardy.
Students, don’t forget story hour on Tuesday and hang out time on Thursday at the Rae Hobson Memorial Library. After school snacks are served on both days. The bus will drop the students off. The library closes at 5:30 p.m.
