Express revamps internet web site

If in recent weeks you have been trying without success to reach this newspaper’s website, we are sorry. If it is any consolidation, we want to you to know you weren’t the only one. We couldn’t even reach it.

This is the first major revision of The Superior Express website since its debut in 199?. We are in the process of updating the web site but some portions of the process went faster than expected and other parts have been going slower and several changes are yet to be made. Unexpectedly the changes blocked many subscribers’ access to the websites.

When we undertook the upgrade, our goal was to provide one location where readers of our family of publications could find the latest updates along with an archive of prior stories. We wanted to make the website available without additional charge to all who subscribe to our newspapers. We have achieved some of our goals but not all of them.

We now have an inclusive web site which currently can be found at superiorne.com. There you will find reproductions of the most recent editions and a mix of stories from our newspaper family. A graphic identifies the source of each story. For example, if the story is from the Jewell County Record, a graphic indicates such. If it is from The Superior Express, a graphic indicates that source.

After being inaccessible for a while, the old website our readers have been accessing since the 1990s is again accessible but the address has changed. It can now be found at http://www.theleaderpaper.com. That web site contains reproductions of newspapers published since June 13, 2013. Even more back issues can be found in a searchable format at http://spx.stparchive.com.

Thesuperiorexpress.com address is not currently working but we expect it eventually will.

If you have internet access and would like to have access to the new digital website, please send your email address and a request to this office and we will register you. Print subscribers may access the web edition at no additional cost. There is a fee for non-subscribers. As time permits, we expect to add enhancements to both the old and new websites.

One of the exciting features associated with the new website is the ability to update it from many locations. That was not the case with the prior website which we were only able to update from one location. The new web site has been designed to provide spaces where area businesses may advertise their goods and services. Those who are interested in advertising on the new web site are asked to contact this newspaper.
