Prayer concerns were for the family of Mike Donely and Gene, the brother of Gail Havens. Joy was having Gail back after her illness. “Treasures” was the title of the message with Matthew 10:26-32 as the scripture read. We were reminded that God knows everything about us down to the number of hairs on our heads. He knows what lies ahead of us, we do not know what the future holds for us, but God does. Matt Boyles served as usher. Dee Reed was at the piano. Fellowship time was hosted by Pat Anderson and Larry Gillett.

Gary Garman opened the service at the Nazarene Church on Sunday morning with a welcome and announcements. Krystal Wulf led the song service with Lola Wilson accompanying on the piano. Marion Belden gave a reading for the special. Krystal Wulf had the children's story. Valentine's Day and different ways God shows his love were discussed. He shows his love every day. "Jesus Loves Me" was then sung. The children were dismissed for Children’s Church.

In Pastor Tom Korb’s sermon, he spoke about the Transfiguration which is found in Matthew 17. We can't make it without Christ. The Sunday morning worship service at the Burr Oak Christian Church began with the pledges to the American flag, the Christian flag and the Bible. A time of song, announcements, praise and prayer requests was followed by prayer, responsive reading, communion and taking the offering.

After a short time for greeting those in attendance, Pastor Richard Cox had a message for the children. Savannah Warrelmann, Brynlee Manning and Makaya Juarez joined him. Following the children’s message, Penny Turner took them for a Sunday school lesson. Pastor Cox selected 1 Corinthians 3:1-9 as the basis for his message entitled “God Gave the Increase.” Left to our own devices, we would founder and fail. But God can work all of our situations to His glory. We are tools of God, doing the things He asks of us. This portion of scripture tells us that while we may plant and another might water, only God can make something grow. Our spiritual life is all about what God has called us to do. Our efforts can be in vain if God doesn’t bless them. Sometimes we try to do things for God that aren’t a part of His plan. It isn’t that our efforts are not worthwhile, but that with God guiding us, they are more likely to bear fruit. God gives us our jobs and puts us in the correct place to achieve them. God calls each of us to different tasks. We need to work together, and in tune with God, to fulfill his plan for our lives.
