Shannon Meier, ambulance director, reviewed the December billing report and activity report. Shannon Meier discussed new regulations for purchasing medication. He also discussed wages. Shannon requested an executive session for the propose of discussing confidential data relating to financial affairs. Regular session resumed. It was approved to write off $6,162.14 for the 4th quarter of 2019 for EMS.
The minutes of the Jan. 6, county commissioners meeting were approved.
Mark Fleming was appointed chairman of the board of county commissioners for 2020.
Keith Roe was appointed vice chairman of the Board of County Commissioners for 2020.
The Jewell County Record was designated as the official county newspaper.
It was approved for all banks in Jewell County to be designated as official depositories.
Keith Roe was reappointed as Jewell County’s representative for the Juvenile Justice Authority-Community Corrections Advisory Board.
Steve Greene was reappoint as Jewell County’s representative for the North Central Kansas Regional Juvenile Detention Facility.
Mark Fleming was reappointed as Jewell County’s representative for the North Central Regional Planning Commission Board.
Resolution 20-02 pertaining to Financial Statements and Financial Reports for 2020 was approved.
It was approved for the proper officer to sign the postage machine lease with Mail Finance Inc. for the IN700 Mailing System, dynamic weighing system and 10-pound integrated scale with a 60-month lease-purchase agreement.
Resolution 20-03 authorizing KPERS 457 deferred compensation plan for the employees of the County of Jewell was approved.
Resolution 20-04 to adopt the written policies to be known as the Manual of Employee Benefits and Personnel Policies for the effective and uniform administration of the business affairs of the County, effective January 13, 2020 passed unanimously.

Carla Underwood was appointed to fill the vacancy of Burr Oak Township Trustee.
Joel Elkins, General Superintendent, discussed maintenance.
