On Friday, the Wildcat wrestlers went to Thayer Central to participate in the Thayer Central Meet. The Cats wrestled throughout the day, not getting finished until after 1 a.m. All the wrestlers did well in their weight divisions.
Payton Christiancy and Hayden Neeman both took home medals for their efforts. Payton Christiancy wrestled in 285 and received second place. Hayden Neeman wrestled at 106, and received fourth.
Next, the Cats will compete in the SNC Wrestling Meet on Saturday.
Wildcats played Doniphan Trumbull at home Friday
The Superior Wildcats played a home game Friday against the Doniphan Trumbull Cardinals. The Cats played hard and never let the Cardinals gets far ahead. The Cats lost the game with a final score of 57-69.
Hunter Healey scored 22 points with two three-pointers. Dane MIller had an exceptionally good game scoring 17 points. Conner Blackstone had six points and Jackson Gilbert scored five. Dane Miller rebounded 10 shots and had the Cats only block of the game, while Jedd Whitmore stole the ball four times.
The Lady Cats also played the Doniphan Trumbull Cardinals Friday. The Cats won the first quarter by nine points and kept that momentum the entire game. The Lady Cats won with a score of 61-36.
Kalynn Meyer scored 23 points, and Shayla Meyer scored 19. Zaveah Kobza and Trisha Hayes scored the Cats only two three-pointers. Kalynn Meyr rebounded 26 shots, while Shalya Meyer rebounded ninr. Kalynn Meyer had three assists. Both Shayla Meyer and Hallie MIller had two. Emma Henderson, Hallie MIller and Shayla Meyer each had one steal for the Wildcats. Zaveah Kobza and Kalynn Meyer each blocked one of the Cardinals shots.
Tuesday, the Cats played the Deshler Dragons at home. Feb. 3 through 8, the Cats will participate in the SNC Tournament.
