The Superior High School volleyball team was dotted with nail-biters this week, but their persistence paid off. The Raiders closed out their regular season schedule last Tuesday at the Franklin triangular. They downed Giltner, 25-13 and 25-14, in two sets. They came close but couldn’t quite get there. Despite losing to High Plains Community at Lawrence by 27 points earlier in the season, the underdog Lawrence-Nelson Raiders came close to pulling off a tremendous upset Thursday at Clarks. The Superior High School football team edged the Gibbon Buffaloes, 23-19, at Brodstone Memorial Field Thursday to close out their 2024 season with a 4-5 record. Friday evening, the L-N Raider Football team completed their regular season game with a 72-20 victory over Giltner High School on the home field in Lawrence. Rayne Biltoft closed out her career as a Superior High School girl golfer with a 16th place finish at the state Class C championship tournament at North Platte last Tuesday. Biltoft qualified for the state event as either a team member or an individual all four years of her playing career.
