    The Superior High School cross country team members competed at the Beloit Invitational Thursday. Brayton Meyer placed 19th in the Middle School two mile run with his time of 13:11. There were 53 seventh and eighth graders entered in the event. Meyer is a seventh grader. Laci Kirchhoff finished in 18th place in the varsity girls 5K run with her timer of 22:12.3.     Inclement weather led to the cancellation of the Superior High School girls golf team final regular season match Thursday. The Wildcats were set to compete at the Centura Invitational at Cairo. The possibility of thunderstorms and heavy rains led to the match being cancelled. The Wildcats shifted their attention to the district match and a berth at the state tournament. The last season Superior fielded a girls golf team was in 2014. Since then, individual girls have played with the boys team as there were not enough girls to field a team....

    The Lawrence-Nelson Raiders took the stinger out of the Giltner Hornets Friday with a 70-43 win. Things didn’t look promising as the first quarter came to a close as the Raiders trailed 9-6. A revitalized team took the field for the second quarter and put 36 points on the score board while limiting Giltner to 14 points to take a 42-22 lead into the half.     The Nebraska High School Hall of Fame held its 2021 induction ceremony at Lincoln East High School, Lincoln, Sunday. The Fischer Family Award was presented to the Denny and Adeline Meyer family. The award honors families whose involvement, contributions and leadership made a significant impact on the high school sports scene.     The Superior High School girls golf team keeps on rolling to success. The Wildcats took second place at the Fullerton Invitational last Tuesday. The 18-hole event was played over the Pawnee Hills Golf Course. Superior took second place in the nine team field with a score of 406.     The Superior High School football season picked up their third win of the season with a 24-0 win over the Sandy Creek Cougars at Superior Friday. The Raiders handed the Fillmore Central Panthers a three-set, 25-21, 23-25 and 25-21 loss. The Raiders then fell to Thayer Central in two sets, 21-25 and 13-25.     The South Central Red Raiders traveled to Geneva last Thursday to take part in the Fillmore Central Cross Country Invitational Meet.     It was another rough outing for the Rock Hills High School football team Friday. From having their season opener cancelled because of COVID-19 to their second consecutive loss, things have not gone well.     Saturday was forecasted to be a warm one, with highs reaching 95º, but that didn't stop 30+ runners from attending the Backroads Relay hosted by the Lawrence and Nelson community clubs.
