  • L-N Raiders win two games last week

    The L-N boys' basketball team played D-1 McCool Junction and D-2 Giltner last week. At the end of the week, they added two more victories to their record which now stands at 6-4. Interestingly, L-N won their first three games of the season and now the last three with the four losses in the middle. The Raiders are an improved team since the beginning of December. Any number of players are used in any game and they all contribute in many ways. The rest of the season promises to be interesting....

    Friday, the Superior boys basketball went to Hebron to play the Thayer Central Titans. Superior lost the game 39-51. Dane Miller scored nine points, Seth Schnakenberg and Ashton Grassman scored seven points.Seth Schnakenberg made two 3-pointers and Ashton Grassman made one 3-pointer.     Superior Lady Wildcats basketball went to Hebron, Friday, to play the Thayer Central Titans. Superior won with a score of 42-24. Shayla Meyer and Sadie Cornell took the lead with 12 points, and Ella Gardner added 6. Cornel made three 3-pointers, Gardner and Meyer both made one 3-pointer.     Last Tuesday, the Rock Hills basketball team took on Red Cloud. They lost 57 to 22 on the Red Cloud court. Friday, they lost 21-49 to the Chase Kats in Mankato. In that game, Ethan Kenworthy scored six points, Tristyn Reynolds scored four and Troy Duskie scored three points. Daniel McDill, Wyatt Evert, Cooper McDill and Eli Vance each added two points.     The Rock Hills girls basketball team won big before home fans in Mankato, Friday. Danica Frost, a junior, lead the team by scoring 22 points. Lauren Whelchel, also a junior, followed with 10 points. Hannah Simmelink followed with 5 and Raylynn Anderes and Selena Luong each added 2. Frost also lead in completed free throws making 8 or 16.     Holiday tournaments are popular for most all high school sports and the South Central Red Raiders Wrestling team traveled to the Fillmore Central High School Holiday Tournament on Dec. 29, to take part in the 21 team event. Bishop Neumann won the tournament with 155 points. The Red Raiders placed 12th with 28 points.
