    The Superior High School volleyball team played at the two-day Hastings St. Cecilia Tournament last Tuesday and Thursday. The Wildcats won both of their Tuesday matches, downing Lawrence-Nelson 25-15 and 25-15., in a two-set sweep. They then put away the Wood River Eagles, 25-15 and 25-15, for another two-set sweep.     The Heartland Huskies mauled the Superior Wildcats 76-14, at Henderson Friday. Nothing much went right on other the offensive or defensive side of the line for the Wildcats as Heartland seemingly scored early, often and at will. Henderson held a 24-7 lead after the first 12 minutes of play. Superior trailed 48-7 at the half. The second half was played under the 40 point mercy rule where play continues with a running clock.     The Rock Hills High school volleyball team went 3-4 for their past seven matches. The Grizzlies played Natoma and Tescott in a triangular match at Natoma Tuesday.     The Lawrence-Nelson football team passed their toughest test of the season with high honors Friday when they downed previously unbeaten and defending current D-2 state champion Kenesaw 46-12 at Kenesaw Friday. Not only did they convincingly trounce their long-time rival, they added insult to injury as they put an end to an 18-game Blue Devil consecutive win streak.     It was a rough outing for the Lawrence-Nelson volleyball team at the Hastings St. Cecilia Tournament. The Raiders fell in four of their matches to higher classification schools.     The Lawrence-Nelson Raiders volleyball team continues to work their way through a tough schedule with mixed results. The Raiders downed the Fillmore Central Panthers in two sets, 25-15 and 25-19, last Tuesday, at Geneva in a triangular match.     The USD 5 Red Raiders cross country runners competed at the Adams Central Invitational held in Hastings last Tuesday. The Thayer Central Invitational, scheduled for Thursday at Hebron, was cancelled because of adverse course conditions.     The Lawrence-Nelson High School football team keeps on rolling as they picked up win number four of the season as they declawed the Axtell Wildcats 52-22 at Lawrence, Friday. The win extended the Raiders winning streak to three games. Krayton Kucera aired it out with 23 completions for his 31 passing attempts.     The Rock Hills High school football team lost a close 28-20 game to the Lincoln Leopards at Mankato Friday. The Grizzlies held a narrow 8-6 lead at half time. A defensive lapse in the third quarter allowed the Leopards to put up two touchdowns and take a 20-14 lead into the fourth quarter. The Grizzles stayed close with another touchdown.     The Superior High School football team is still in search of that elusive first win as they fell to the Sandy Creek Cougars 48-6 at Sandy Creek Friday.     The Lawrence-Nelson High School football team made it look easy Friday as they cruised to a 44-0 shut out over the Blue Hill Bobcats at Lawrence.
