Bernard Oscar Betten, 97, of Hebron, Neb., the son of William and Lydia (Guelker) Betten was born Nov. 12, 1923, in Martell, Neb. He died Saturday, at Blue Valley Lutheran Home in Hebron. Bernard grew up in Ruskin, attending school and graduating from Ruskin High School with the Class of 1941. He died last Wednesday, at Parkview Haven Nursing Home in Deshler. He went through the eighth grade at the Moran Country School. Jack Dale Mai, 72, the son of Vernon and Margie (Wilson) Mai, was born Sept. 20, 1948, at Russell. He died last Wednesday at Hoisington. Jack’s early childhood was on a farm south of Russell.
