The Rock Hills scholars bowl team began this season motivated and determined to return to the State Championship Tournament to take care of some unfinished business. After finishing third in ‘22 and second in ‘23, the team set their sights on bringing home the championship in ‘24. A Kyle Railroad project in Cloud County is among 17 short line railroad projects in Kansas to receive grants through the Kansas Department of Transportation’s Rail Service Improvement Program. Gov. Laura Kelly said nearly $16.5 million will go toward the expansion and rehabilitation projects with the goal of improving the state’s agriculture supply chain. Monday evening, the Superior Board of Education unanimously approved the 2024-2025 negotiated agreement with the Superior Education Association. The base salary increased $800. The Superior Police Department has placed into operation new speed measuring radar equipment. The equipment became operational on Friday and by Monday 17 violators had been apprehended. The Kansas Department of Transportation is now accepting applications for the Spring 2024 round of the agency’s cost share program. Nearly $140 million has been given to Kansas communities since the program began in 2019. The Jewell Apartments Board of Directors met last Monday at City Hall.
