Last Tuesday’s blood drive in Nelson was a success to say the least. The goal of 64 units was set by the Red Cross and the community was able to supply 71. The drive saw four first time donors as well as some pretty impressive milestone donors. The Jewell Apartments Board of Directors met last Tuesday at City Hall. Two people from Superior, T.J. and Kendra Morris, were injured in an accident involving a motorcycle and a deer Monday morning in Boone County, Missouri. The accident occurred at 9 a.m. on northbound Highway 63 just north of Route NN. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a motorcycle driven by 45-year-old T. J. Last Wednesday morning a Kansas health department inspector was observed in Mankato checking the pumps, dispensers and tanks associated with the closed Mac’s convenience store. Keenagers met at the fire hall in Lawrence on Thursday Aug. 15.
