The Mankato City Pool will be hosting a back-to-school swim party on Saturday. The last day of swimming will be Sunday. The city pool was lucky this year to have been fully staffed. With a small upset of the original pool manager leaving early in the year, they were still able to keep up with operation. Roger Meier served as pool manager while another one was being sought. The Native American Raids of 1864 will be remembered and re-enacted on Saturday, Aug. 6, when the residents of Oak and their friends continue a tradition which began with the Nebraska Centennial in 1967.
