The All-Northern Plains League post-season honors were recently released. Several Rock Hills High School players earned honorable mentions. It was a tough season opener for the Rock Hills High School boys basketball team. They fell to Pike Valley 49-17 at Scandia Friday. It was also the first game of the T-Bird Invitational Tournament. The Beloit High School wrestling team opened their season Thursday with a match at Phillipsburg with Plainville and Phillipsburg. Three Rock Hills High School student athletes, Coe Nielson, Connor Cosand and Jacob Barry, wrestle with Beloit during the regular season as part of a cooperative program. After a rocky start in their season opener, the Superior High School girls basketball team has continued their winning ways. They turned in a steady performance to down the Fairbury Jeffs 35-25 at Superior last Tuesday. Superior traveled to Wilber, Saturday, where they downed the Wolverines 37-20. The Superior boys basketball team is still searching for that elusive first win of the season. The Fairbury Jeffs handed the Wildcats 52-32 loss at Superior last Tuesday. He fell to Ty Woerner of Superior in the 220 pound weight bracket. Anthony Congdon-Meyer of Thayer Central downed Elledge in their match at 220 pounds. The Franklin Flyers topped the Lawrence-Nelson High School girls basketball team 49-29 at Franklin Friday. Matters didn’t improve Saturday when the Bruning-Davenport- Shickley Eagles handed the Raiders a 44-29 loss at Nelson. Franklin lept out to a 27-8 lead after two quarters.
