There is a new team competing for Lawrence-Nelson High School. Wrestling returns after a two-decade hiatus. Wrestlers had competed with Sandy Creek as part of the USD5 program. Delmer E. Young, son of Vernon W. Young and Millie M. (Strine) Young, was born on April 3, 1935, at Seneca, Missouri, and died on Nov. 19, 2023, at Thayer County Health Services, Hebron, Nebraska, at the age of 88. In Delmer’s early years, he lived in Taneyville, Missouri. The family later moved to Hebron where he met the love of his life. He was united in marriage to Barbara J. Barnes on Jan. 10, 1954.
