    We've had some nice harvesting weather this fall but the lack of a hard frost has thrown a wrench into grazing covers. For those with cattle on cover crops, Jenny Rees, extension educatior, warns, "Please be aware of the potential for nitrate and prussic acid poisoning with the light frosts.     It’s unfortunate that much of the world today measures things in wins or losses. The 2021 L-N Raider football season will go down in the history books with a 3-6 record. However, as the coaches, players and close fans know, you would be missing a lot if that is all you judged the team by. This reporter received the season’s statistics and in looking them over the statistic that jumps out is the offensive production for the year. L-N averaged 348 yards per games.   • L-N Raider Volleyball season ends with 17-15 record

    The 2021 High School Volleyball season is now safely in the record books with the State Tournament just completed. L-N ended the season in the District Finals with a won-loss record of 17-15. This year the Lady Raiders were led by four seniors, a couple of juniors, a lone sophomores and a couple of freshmen. They met the usual array of higher Class teams, in fact, 20 of the 32 games were against Class D-1 or C-2 teams.     The world lost an angel today, Nov. 5, 2021. Geneva (Vickers) Boston, Dayton, Ohio, lived in Mankato for several years before moving to Dayton. She was born to John and Grace Vickers on May 21, 1928. She was the oldest daughter of 10 children. Geneva met and married Frank G. Boston on Dec. 27, 1947.     It was a roller coaster ride of a state Class C-2 volleyball tournament for the Superior High School team. The Wildcats entered the tournament as the number four seed. They opened tournament play Thursday at the Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln against the Amherst Broncos, the number five seeded team. The two evenly matched teams slugged it out over five sets with Superior emerging as the match winner, 25-21, 21-25,25-16,11-25 and 15-7.
