Alvira Mary Kathman, 90, died Friday, Oct. 30, 2020, at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital. Mass of Christian Burial was at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 4, with a rosary preceding at 1:30 p.m. at St. Stephens Catholic Church south of Lawrence with Father Corey Harr-ison officiating. Ronald Guy Figgins, 79, the son of Freida (Spooner) and Erza R. “Jude” Figgins, was born Oct. 31, 1940, at Burr Oak. He died Oct. 29, at the Heritage Care Center in Red Cloud. He began his formal education attending the Red Cloud school and moved to Yuma, Ariz., with his family where he graduated from high school. Mary Anna Gunn, 96, the daughter of Henry and Mae (DeVore) Ahrens, was born Nov. 29, 1923, near Edgar. She died Wednesday, Oct. 28, at her home in Edgar. As a young girl, Mary’s home was a farm house in the middle of a section. She remembered vividly the long ungraveled road leading up to the house, no modern conveniences and telephone with a party line. Lucille Ruth Krueger, 98, one of six children of Elizabeth (Leban) and Otto Nierman, was born Aug. 9, 1922, at Amherst, Colo. She died Oct. 26, 2020 at the Heritage Care Center in Red Cloud. Lucille received her formal education attending St. Paul’s Lutheran School from the third through eighth grade.
