Alan V. Hult, 77, of Superior, died on Friday, Sept 17, at the Good Samaritan Society Home in Superior. Memorail services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 24, at Apfel Funeral Home in Grand Island with the Rev. Brian Piel- stick officiating. Military honors will follow the service. The COVID-19 scourge continues to impact the Rock Hills High School volleyball team. The team has not played a match since their season opener on Aug. 31. It was another rough outing for the Rock Hills High School football team Friday. From having their season opener cancelled because of COVID-19 to their second consecutive loss, things have not gone well. The Axtell Eagles dominated Rock Hills, 62-14, in a game which was called at the half when the 45 point mercy rule was invoked. The Superior High School cross country team competed at the Fillmore Central Invitational Thursday. Brianna Stricklin finished in 50th place for the girls 5K varsity run. Her time was 29:21.59. Laci Kirchhoff took first place in the 5K junior varsity run with her time of 25:25.28. Their were 16 runners in the field. Hunter Mazzulla finished in fourth place in the 5K junior varsity run. It was a typical Lawrence-Nelson-Blue Hill love fest for the Homecoming game at Lawrence Friday. When time expired, the Bobcats had eked out a 54-52 win over long-time rival Lawrence-Nelson in a game that was contested until time expired.
