    Dolores Marcene Gunn ("Teed" or "Dee") died peacefully on Sept. 9, 2022, in Surprise, Ariz., just shy of what would have been her 90th birthday. Dolores was born in Burr Oak, Kan., on Oct. 1, 1932, to Orville Scott and Marguerite Rouse Peters. Dolores graduated from high school at Edgar, Neb., in 1951, where she excelled as a cheerleader.     Travis James Thelander, the son of Calvin and Polly (Green) Thelander, was born on May 10, 1988, at Ord, Neb. He died Sept. 12, 2022 at the CHS Agri Services Center,Roseland, Neb., at the age of 34 years, 4 months, 2 days. Travis attended schools in York, McCool Junction, Aurora and Cheyenne, Wyoming, graduating from Aurora in 2006. On August 5, 2016, he was united in marriage to Shayla Martin in Aurora, Neb.     Coleen Jo Meyer, the daughter of Leverle and Helen Mabel (Duncan) Shipley, was born on May 30, 1945, in Angus, Neb. She died Sept. 16, 2022, at the Hospice House at Omaha, Neb., at the age of 77 years, 3 months, 17 days. Coleen attended country grade school and Nelson High School.     The Superior High School girls golf team continues their impressive run with a fourth place finish at the Minden Invitational Thursday. The 18-hole event featured 19 teams with the first three teams playing one to two classes above Superior.     The Superior High School cross country team competed at the Fillmore Central Invitational, Thursday. The races were run over the Hiden Hills Country Club course. The Wildcat harriers competed at the Fanklin Invitational Tuesday. Race results were unavailable at press time.     It was not the best of weeks for the Superior High School volleyball team as they dropped two of their three matches. The Sutton Mustangs swept Superior, 21-25-20-25 and 22-25, in three sets, at Sutton last Tuesday. It was a mixed bag at the Blue Hill triangular match, Saturday. Superior handed host Blue Hill a two-set, 25-11 and 25-19, loss. The Alma Cardinals handed the Wildcats a two-set, 13-25 and 18-26, loss.     The Superior High School football team enjoyed a bye week to rest and regroup. The team is still looking for the first win of the season. They host the Sandy Creek Cougars at Brodstone Memorial Field Friday with kickoff set for 7:30 p.m. This is a change from the normal kickoff time of 7 p.m. Superior lost to Kenesaw 38-14, Friday, Sept 9, at Kenesaw.     The Lawrence-Nelson High School football team made it look easy Friday as they cruised to a 44-0 shut out over the Blue Hill Bobcats at Lawrence. The offense was firing on all cylinders as Krayton Kucera picked apart the Bobcat defense. The Raiders scored with two passing touchdowns and three on the ground.     The Lawrence-Nelson High School volleyball team won their two matches at the Kenesaw triangular last Tuesday. The Raiders downed Harvard, 25-8 and 25-16, for a two-set sweep. They required three sets, 25-13, 17-16 and 28-26, to put away Kenesaw. The Shelton Bulldogs made short work of the Raiders, Thursday, at Shelton, with a three set, 9-25, 20-25 and 15-25, sweep.     The South Central USD 5 Red Raiders cross country team competed at the Fillmroe Central Invitational run over the 5K Hidden Hills Country Club course at Geneva Thursday. The Red Raiders competed at the Adams Central Invitational at Hastings Tuesday with match results unavailable at press time. Rowan Jarosik brought home the fourth place medal with his time of 17:36.     The Rock Hills High School football team celebrated their first win of the season when they put a damper on the Pike Valley Panthers' Homecoming game. The Grizzlies took home a 54-20 win. Rock Hills opened up a 22-12 lead at the end of the first quarter and never looked back. The Grizzlies passed twice in the game and were rewarded with touchdowns each time.     It was a productive week for the Rock Hills High school volleyball team. The Grizzlies downed Glasco 25-14, 12-25 and 26-24, in three sets at the Tescott triangular last Tuesday. They followed up with a two-set, 25-14 and 25-14, sweep of host Tescott. Rock Hills was back in Tescott Saturday for the Tescott Tournament.
