    Friday evening the weather was pleasant in Nelson at Elk Creek County Club. It was a great way to finish up the season for the Couples’ Summer Golf league. This week golfers played a par 3. The scores ranged from 31 to 39. Royce and Brenda Schott had a low net score of only 18 and Coke and Cindy Troudt and Richard and Verlene Watson had the high gross score of 39.     Kay Harvey, 76, died Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2022 at Stonecrest Memory Care in Wood- bury, Minn. Kay was born Oct. 10, 1945, in rural Nebraska to her parents, George and Ruth Johnson. Her family later moved to Superior, Neb., where she graduated high school in 1963. She attended the University of Nebraska and in 1976, she graduated with degrees in English and journalism.     Eleanor Rose (Postlewait) Scott, 88, went to eternity with our Lord and Savior on Aug. 20, 2022. She died at the Mitchell County Hospital in Beloit, Kan. Born on Nov. 25, 1933. in Pueblo, Colo. Eleanor was the fifth child of seven and the second daughter of Cloyd C. and Mary M. Postlewait. Eleanor was a social little girl. This served her well as she moved around a lot with her family.     The weather was perfect for football and mosquitoes at Superior's Brodstone Memorial Field Friday as the Wildcats opened their 2022 season with a 52-20 loss to the Alma Cardinals. The event was pushed to Friday from its originally scheduled play date of Thursday because of a conflicting event. Superior finished in second place in the eight team field.
