He died Tuesday, May 19, 2020, at Autumn Care Center in Marshville, N.C. at the age of 93 years and 12 days.     Lula Marie Hutchcraft, the daughter of Jules and Elba (Sonnier) Landry, was born Sept. 28, 1929, in Kaplan, La. She died June 30, 2021, at the Brodstone Memorial Hospital at Superior, Nebraska at the age of 91 years, 9 months, 2 days. She married Charlie Ray Matthews, Sr., on June 11, 1951, at Las Cruces, N.M., while he was serving in the military. They had five children.     Jerry Horst of Edgar, was born March 26, 1959, to John and Janice (Kinnison) Horst in Hastings, Neb. He died Sunday, Dec. 20, 2020, at Mary Lanning Healthcare in Hastings, Neb. Jerry attended Edgar Elementary School and Sandy Creek High School, graduating in 1977. He went on to study agriculture at University of Nebraska at Lincoln, graduating in 1981.     Elk Creek Couples Summer Golf League met in Nelson Friday evening onanother perfect evening to golf. The format, in addition to the usual 2-person scramble, had the women doing all of the teeing off. Dorrel Lipker and Carla Jeardoe had a low net score again, this week with a 29.
