Tessie Lorraine Gray Bartholomew died May 17, 2024, in Allen, Texas, two days before her 96th birthday. Tessie was born in Superior, Nebraska, to Albert and Clista Gray on May 19, 1928, the sixth of nine children. She graduated from Superior High School. Tessie was married to John Bartholomew in 1946, in Fremont, Ohio. Kermit Clare Jeffery, the son of Everett and Zula Jeffery was born on Feb. 13, 1931, at Northbranch, Kansas. He died on June 17, 2024, at Cherry Corner Estates in Red Cloud, Nebraska at the age of 93. Kermit received his formal education from Union One Country School near Northbranch, and graduated from Burr Oak High School in 1949. Shirley Uhrmacher, 84, of Superior, formerly of Nelson, died June 19, 2024. She was born April 12, 1940, in Superior. Her parents were Harold Uhrmacher and Armilda (Hohl) Uhrmacher. Her funeral will be at 2 p.m., Saturday at Klawitter-Price Funeral Home, Nelson, Nebraska with Royce Schott officiating. Burial will be in Nelson Cemetery, Nelson. Memorials may go to the family. Wrestling season is more than two months away but that hasn’t kept Superior team members from working on improving their skills. Seth Going, head coach for the Superior High School wrestling team, took five wrestlers to a summer camp at Seward last week. Kyler Boyles competed at the National Duals Tournament held at Virginia Beach, Virginia.
