L-N track hosts invite The Sandy Creek High School track was home to the Russ Snyder Invitational sponsored by Lawrence-Nelson High School Thursday. The 2023 edition of the L-N Raider golf team is making a name for itself. It has brought home several championship trophies so far in the season and last week it brought home a much coveted trophy from the Twin Valley Conference Tournament. In past years the Raiders had individuals who golfed with the leaders in area schools. The Grizzly girls finished in fourth place, with 51 points, in the 14 team field of Washington County, Osborne, Hanover, Republic County, Linn, Stockton, Thunder Ridge, Pike Valley, Smith Center, St, John’s, Lakeside, Tipton Catholic and Southern Cloud. Judy Kay Malmos, 78, of Superior, died May 5, 2023, surrounded by her family. She was born to Orville and Vivene Morrow, June 2, 1944, in Norfolk, Nebraska. She was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod. Judy graduated from O'Neill High School in 1962, and attended beauty school in Lincoln. She died May 5, 2023, at the Heritage Care Center in Red Cloud. The Superior Country Club golf course was the site of the Southern Nebraska Conference tournament Thursday. The event was anything but dull as Mother Nature decided to add some spice to the game.
