The Rock Hills High School boys and girls track and field teams hosted the Grizzly Invitational at Mankato Friday. The Rock Hills girls finished in sixth place, with 37 points, in the 14 team field of Washington County, Hanover, Smith Center, Republic County, Stockton, Osborne, Pike Valley, St. John's, Lakeside, Linn, Northern Valley, Tipton Catholic and Thunder Ridge. The Superior High School boys and girls track and field teams closed out their regular season schedule at the Fillmore Central Invitational at Geneva Thursday. The girls team finished in third place, with 97 points, in the seven team field of Centennial, David City, Malcolm, Fillmore Central, Thayer Central and Sandy Creek. The Superior High School golf team competed at the Southern Nebraska Conference golf tournament Thursday. The match was hosted by Sutton High School and played over the Fox Hollow Golf Course. Superior finished in 10th place, with 392 strokes, in the 10 team field of Sutton, David City, Thayer Central, Fairbury, Milford, Heartland, Sandy Creek, Fillmore Central and Centennial. Joyce Loraine (Oliver) Fullerton, the daughter of Guy and Dorothy (Scarrow) Oliver, was born on Aug. 14, 1934, in Mankato, Kansas. She died Nov. 16, 2023, at the Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital at Hastings, Nebraska at the age of 89 years, 3 months, 2 days. Joyce grew up with her family of six brothers and one sister.
