    Caleb Burks, a senior at Beloit High School, has been invited to play in the Thunderbird All-Star Invitational, hosted by Cloud County Community College. The all-star game will be held on the CCCC campus at the Arley Bryant Gymnasium on Sunday, April 3.     The Superior High School boys and girls track and field teams opened the 2022 season with back to back meets Friday and Saturday. Ryan Renz, head coach, split the team between the two meets. The Wilcox-Hildreth Invitational was staged Friday at wilcox. The team competed at the Fairbury Invitational at Fairbury Saturday.     Kalynn Meyer, a former Superior High School three-sport stand out, has eschewed volleyball after two seasons at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, to pursue her dream of competing in the 2024 Olympics in the discus throw.     The Superior High School boys golf team opened their 2022 campaign with a quadrangular meet last Thursday at Fox Hollow Country Club, Sutton, hosted by Sutton High School. The match was rescheduled from March 22 because of inclement weather. Superior hosted Lawrence-Nelson, B-D-S and Red Cloud at the Superior Country Club Tuesday.     The Sacred Heart Sewing Circle for the Sacred Heart Catholic parish in Lawrence was organized in 1916 (Yes, 106 years ago). Since that time, thousands of quilts have been put together and quilted by the women of Sacred Heart parish with some help from women outside of the parish on occasion.
