James Ross Doyle, 88, of Guide Rock, died Monday, Feb. 27. He was born Oct. 12, 1934, in Rule, Texas, the oldest child to Ross and Etha (Carter) Doyle. He lived in Palo Pinto County, Texas, for seven years. Then the family moved to Ft. Smith, Arkansas and Savannah, Oklahoma. The family moved to Nebraska in 1948, where he attended school in Guide Rock. He began working in 1948, at the age of 14. Theora P. Lang died Feb. 28, 2023, at the Brodstone Memorial Hospital in Superior, Nebraska, at the age of 93 years, 1 month, and 8 days. Theora was born on Jan. 20, 1930, in Deshler, Nebraska. She grew up on a farm near Guide Rock, where she attended school, and graduated with the Class of 1949.
