    The Superior High School boys basketball team closed out their regular season schedule with a 79-50 loss to Sutton at Superior Friday. They were eliminated from subdistrict play with a 55-31 loss to Hastings St. Cecilia at Adams Central High School, Hastings Monday. Superior led Sutton 18-14 after the first quarter. The Mustangs took the lead with a 22 point second quarter.     The Lawrence-Nelson girls basketball team plowed their way through the D2-6 sub-district field at Grand Island Central Catholic last Tuesday and Thursday. Rebounding from their loss to Superior which saw their undefeated season go up in smoke, the Raiders had something to prove. They were the number two seed.   • SHS wrestler takes sixth at state meet

    Payton Christiancy, the lone Superior High School wrestler to qualify for the state meet at Omaha, earned a sixth place finish and 11 team points. The state tournament was held at Omaha's CHI Center, Thursday through Saturday. Christiancy opened his first round match with a win by a fall over Brayton Branic, Sand Hills-Thedford.
