    Michael Donley, 60, died at his home in Burr Oak on Thursday. A memorial service is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. at the Burr Oak United Methodist Church on Friday, Feb. 21. Michael is survived by his wife, Judy, brothers, Daniel and Patrick and a sister, Beth. Because of the cancellation of the Rock Hills basketball game Friday, Sam and Alyce Gillett headed early to Valley Center. But they didn’t miss out on a ball game.     Magnificent 100 year old homes were on display in Jewell Sunday. And yes, some of them were well over 100 years old. They were built in the days before power tools and several were three stories high. Woodwork, doors and stairways were crafted from beautiful wood, complete with intricate detail work. The wood gleamed like new. Great care had been given over the years. Visionary carpenters created the exteriors in more amazing details. Many windows filled the houses with light.     The library held an earring making workshop taught by Shanna Lindberg, of the Soul Sisters shop in Courtland. She demonstrated how to attach an earring to a couple of different styles of hooks. She also demonstrated how to use wire and posts for making the dangling decoration of an earring. Three members of the Formoso community were present as well as the librarian, Barb Langston.     Michael Donley, age 60, of Burr Oak, Kan., died Thursday, Feb. 13, 2020, at his home. He was born on Sept. 2, 1959, in Columbus, Ohio to Robert and Peggy (Geyer) Donley. Michael was a graduate of Colorado State University, getting a degree in agriculture. After which, he took an internship at Disney World’s Land Pavilion in Orlando, Fla., as a greenhouse technician.
