    After a lengthy illness, Linda Kay Williams, aged 80, died Monday, Jan. 30,2023, at the Boundary Waters Care Center.Linda was bom to Harold and Hazel Wheeland in Edgar, Nebraska. She was preceded in death by her father; mother; twin brother, Lonnie; brother, Jack; and her loving husband, Barry.     The Superior High School boys and girls wrestling teams were in action Thursday and Friday. The girls and boys teams competed at the Twin Valley-Fort Kearney Conferences tournament at Kenesaw Thursday. Superior is not a member of either conference but because they have wrestlers from Deshler on the team as part of a cooperative program they were eligible to compete.     The Superior High School boys basketball team encountered rough sailing at the Southern Nebraska Conference Tournament held at Centennial High School, Utica. They dropped their opening round game last Monday at Milford, 49-31. Their consolation round game, Saturday, went little better as they lost to Thayer Central 50-35.     JoAnn Rothchild, 78, died Monday, Jan. 30, 2023, at Broadstone Healthcare in Superior, Nebraska. JoAnn was born May 22, 1944, in Nelson, Nebraska to the late Myrtle and George Stierwalt. She was the youngest of seven children. Three brothers, Danny, George (Bug) and Max Stierwalt preceded her in death.
