    Linda Jean Jensby, 60, died peacefully following a brief illness on Dec. 22, 2024, at St. Francis Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. Linda was born on Sept. 7, 1964, to Roy and Lagreta Jensby at the Republic County Hospital in Belleville, Kansas. Linda’s generous gift of being an organ donor gave gifts to more than 75 people. Linda grew up on a farm in Webber, where she was an active member of the Webber Wide Awake 4-H Club. She attended schools in Republic and Courtland before her family moved to Belleville. Travis grew up in Jewell, Kansas, with his brothers, Jeremy and Kristopher, along with many pets. He enjoyed animals and fulfilled a dream when he got a job at Solomon Valley Veterinary Hospital where he worked for 20 years and he acquired many friends. Jan's entire education was within the Beloit school district. He enjoyed his agriculture classes taught by Mr. Earl Baugher and was active in his FFA Chapter.     Close games generally represent evenly matched teams, both of which plan to win. It was overtime, when the Raiders scored eight points and the Grizzlies scored only seven points that finally ended the game last Tuesday night when Lawrence-Nelson traveled to Mankato to play basketball. In the first quarter, it looked as if the Lawrence-Nelson Raiders might easily win. They scored 18 points while the Grizzlies scored only 10.     Rock Hills marched into the game with the Lawrence-Nelson Raider girls with two straight wins. One over Stockton 50-27 on Monday, Feb. 13, and the other Friday, Feb. 10 over St. John’s Tipton 60-58. The Lady Grizzlies added a third win last Tuesday when they won over the Raiders 44-39.     This week the Grizzlies are occupied with the NPL tournament. It is an 11 team mid-season league tournament featuring Sylvan-Lucas, Natoma, Osborne, Lincoln, Rock Hills, Tescott, Pike Valley, Stockton, Thunder Ridge, St. John’s-Tipton and Lakeside. The tournament began Friday with three play-in games for both the boys and girls divisions. The winners advanced to the quarter finals Monday.     Superior blew past the Heartland Huskies 81-30 last Tuesday. The Wildcats have now won seven contests by 30 points or more this season: Wilber-Claytonia (59) Heartland (51); Meridan (45), St. Patrick (40) and Centennial (31).     Saturday afternoon, the Superior Lady Wildcats moved to 12 - 2 when they won over the Sandy Creek Cougars 49-25 at Sandy Creek. The win was not as easy as the score would suggest. At the half, the Cougars lead 18-17. The game was tied at 21 early in the third quarter, when the Wildcats went on at 28 to 4 run to finish the game.     The Superior Wildcats girls basketball team visited one of the newest schools in Nebraska - Standing Bear High School in Lincoln, easily winning the game 56-33, Saturday.     Saturday afternoon the Superior boys basketball team played at hard faught game in Lincoln against Standing Bear. Edward Naughton, news reporter, said, “The game was hard to watch.     The Sandy Creek Cougars establish dominance early in the game Saturday afternoon with Wildcats basketball action at Sandy Creek. They won 60-20.
