    In his annual address to the Nebraska Unicameral delivered last Wednesday Gov. Pete Ricketts highlighted key areas of growth that occurred in the previous year as well as outlined his four main priorities for 2020. First on his list of priorities, Ricketts said, is property tax relief.     As we keep an eye on the forecast and wonder if the weather will upset our travel plans, Nebraska’s primary election seems to be a long way off. But in reality it may be closer than we think. The Nuckolls County clerk’s office is already accepting early ballot requests for the May 12 primary elections. Last Monday was the first day such requests could be made.     On Saturday, the Wildcats played another away game at Sandy Creek. The Cats started strong, ending the first quarter with 19 points to the Cougars 0. Scoring 21 more points in the second quarter, 12 in the third, and nine in the fourth, this was a high scoring game. The Wildcats won with a score of 61-14.     On Tuesday the Wildcats went to Henderson to play the Heartland Huskies. The Lady Cats started the game behind the Huskies letting them score six points before they could score any. The Cats then quickly picked up the pace and scored nine points before the first quarter was over. The Cats kept that momentum throughout the game to win with a final score of 52 to 24.     David Robert Parker, 80, of Boulder, Colo., died Thursday, Jan. 16, 2020, after bravely fighting a year-long battle against brain cancer. Dave was born Nov. 15, 1939, in Sioux Falls, S.D., to Gerald and Lucile (Gleich) Parker. He grew up in Superior, graduating from Superior High School in 1957. After high school, Dave attended and graduated from the University of Colorado-Boulder in 1962 with a bachelor of arts degree in English. Shirley Post 176 were at 2:30 p.m., Jan. 17, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Blue Hill with Pastor Leah Krotz officiating.     Robert Edward Schneider, 82, the son of Charles and Mable (Brassall) Schneider, was born on May 23, 1937 in Springfield, Mo. He died Jan. 14, 2020 at the Superior Good Samaritan Center. Robert was a high school graduate and Marines veteran. Growing up, he resided for a time at Boys Town and also in Boonville, Missouri school for boys.
