    Superior traveled to Geneva to take on Fillmore Central Saturday. The Cats were looking to add a third game to their streak of wins, but a poor shooting effort (18 percent from the field) stopped their streak. “We came out a little flat and Fillmore Central came out with energy and confidence.     The Superior High School girls basketball team lost a nail-biter to the Thayer Central Titans, 46-43, at Superior, Friday. They rebounded nicely with a 57-48 win over the Fillmore Central Panthers, at Geneva, Saturday to bring their record to 6-5.     The Superior High School wrestling team competed at the Franklin Invitational, at Franklin High School Saturday. They finished in fifth place in the 13 team field with 105.5 points. Other teams at the event were the Kearney High School Gold squad, Red Cloud-Blue Hill, Gibbon, Axtell, Southern Valley, North Platte St. Patrick's, Franklin, Alma, Sandhills Valley, Sandhills-Thedford, Friend and Wilcox-Hildreth.     The Lawrence- Nelson High School girls basketball team reeled off two straight wins to improve their season record to 5-5. Lawrence-Nelson downed the McCool Junction Mustangs 39-28 at Nelson last Tuesday. They continued their winning ways as they handed the Giltner Hornets a 60-35 loss at Giltner Thursday.     The Lawrence-Nelson boys basketball team allowed last Tuesday's game with McCool Junction, at Nelson, slip away to a 48-40 loss.     Connor Cosand took fourth place in the 120 pound weight bracket at the J. R Durham Invitational Tournament at Norton High School Saturday. He earned five team points for the Beloit Trojans wrestling team. Buck Luedke took third place in the 220 pound weight bracket at the Concordia Junior Varsity tournament Friday.     The Rock Hills High School girls basketball team recorded one of their more resounding wins of recent years when they downed the Chase Kats, 73-30, at Chase Friday.     The return to the classroom and scheduled basketball practices and games was welcomed by most high schools in Nebraska last week. The Raiders played well against two different opponents last week. In McCool Junction L-N had a very good first half of play but could not carry that into the 2nd half to tame a McCool powerful team (record now 8-1).     Troopers from the Nebraska State patrol were on scene with deputies from Nuckolls and Webster counties to assist with traffic control, Thursday afternoon, when a large prairie fire driven by high winds closed Highway 78 and Highway 36 to traffic.
