    Sister Richardine (Luella) Rempe of La Mirada, California, passed away on Dec. 10, 2024, following a long battle with cancer. Sister Richardine was the daughter of Richard and Hilda (Ostdiek) Rempe. After entering the order of the School Sisters of Notre Dame, she was a teacher in several mid-western schools before being transferred to California where she taught and was a school administrator.     Delmar Clair Shoemaker, 89, was born Feb. 8, 1935, on a farm in Jewell County, one of five children born to John and Merle Dean Shoemaker. He died Saturday at Mitchell County Residential Care Center. Delmar attended Center Rural and Glen Elder Grade School and graduated from Glen Elder High School in 1953.     On Saturday, Jan. 4, 2025, Willard Garlock died at the age of 81 after a brief bout with multiple ailments. His loving wife Carol was at his side. Willard was born Oct. 23, 1943, in Courtland, Kansas, as the tenth of 14 children to Vern and Wilma Garlock.     The Rock Hills boys basketball team took on the Red Cloud Warriors, Friday, in Mankato. Both teams faught hard to win. Red Cloud won 59 - 52. The score by quarters were as follows: first quarter - Rock Hills 10 - Red Cloud 13; second quarter both teams scored 12; third quarter Rock Hills 13 and Red Cloud 17; both teams scored 17 in the fourth.     Friday the Superior-Deshler Cooperative wrestling girls competed in Geneva in an all girls invitational. Cheyenne Stacy won first place in the 120 weight class.     Emma Jane Skinner, 86, of Edgar, died Friday at The Heritage at College View in Hastings. Emma Jane (Ashby) Skinner was born on Aug. 12, 1938, in Longdale, Oklahoma, to John Edward and Daisy D.
