    Becky Pihl was a recent visitor of her parents, Maurice and Earlene Jeffery. Her sister, Susan Janda, also joined them. Last week Sam and Alyce Gillett took Lily and Claire Walker to Mankato to eat for a late birthday celebration honoring Claire.     One morning recently I was out and about running errands and stopped in at Tom Shute’s home office where he hosts a daily morning coffee for his hired men and whoever else happens to show up. This is the place to go to catch up on the neighborhood happenings as well as get a jump start to the day with coffee and whatever else may be prepared.     We offer sympathy to Robin Rose whose father, Norman Krebs, died Thursday at the hospital in Hastings. Because of the cancellation of the Rock Hills basketball game Friday, Sam and Alyce Gillett headed early to Valley Center. But they didn’t miss out on a ball game. Saturday they watched Cade L’Ecuyer play basketball and then watched his sister, Makayla, play a game. They had gone to help Cade celebrate his 7th birthday.     Sam and Alyce Gillett have been busy attending ball games. Last Tuesday they, along with Lily and Claire Walker, watched Jerrod Gillett play in the game against Sylvan - Lucas. Friday they traveled to Downs to watch Rock Hills play Lakeside. In the JV game they saw grandson, Ross Hutson, play for Lakeside and be high scorer. Then in the varsity game they switched allegiance and cheered for Rock Hills and Jerrod, who had a good game, unfortunately in a 1 point overtime loss.
